The chamber

Advocate Kanisth Manuja
Chamber S-307, 3rd Floor, Delhi High Court,
Pragati Vihar, New Delhi 110003

This is my principal chamber. It is inside the Delhi High Court complex on the third floor, in the chamber block, and it is where I work on every High Court matter — drafting, conferences and the day’s listings. If you have a writ petition, a public interest litigation, an appeal or revision against a district court order, an application to quash an FIR, or a Section 34 petition against an arbitral award, this is the address that matters to you, because that is where those remedies are heard.

Who you meet here

Me. You discuss the matter with the advocate who will argue it, and the papers you bring are read in front of you.

Bring whatever you already have: the order or notice you received, the FIR copy, the agreement, the title documents, any earlier court papers. A first conference is far more useful with the documents in the room than with a description of them.

How to reach it

The Delhi High Court is on Sher Shah Road, Pragati Vihar, between India Gate and Mathura Road, in the New Delhi district. Entry is controlled: you will need a photo identity document, and visitors are ordinarily admitted through the gate in use for the public on that day, which changes with the court’s own security arrangements.

Because the gate and the lift bank to use for the S block change from time to time, call +91 99908 56569 before you set out and you will be told which gate to use that day and where to wait.

Hours

By appointment. Call +91 99908 56569 or send a WhatsApp message and a time will be fixed around the day’s listings. Court working hours and the vacation calendar are set by the Delhi High Court, not by the chamber, so a date in a vacation period may have to be met at one of the other two offices instead.

Courts served from this chamber

  • Delhi High Court — writ petitions and public interest litigation; appeals and revisions from district court orders; FIR quashing under the inherent powers in Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023; bail and anticipatory bail where the High Court is the right forum; Section 34 and Section 37 petitions in arbitration; DDA and MCD matters.
  • Supreme Court of India — special leave petitions and appeals, briefed and argued through an Advocate-on-Record. I am not an Advocate-on-Record and not a designated Senior Advocate, so the filing is done through an AOR and the matter is argued with them.
  • Patiala House Courts and Tis Hazari Courts — I appear in both. I keep no chamber or office at either; files for those matters are prepared here.

The other two offices

  • Karkardooma Court chamber — 1st Floor, Block-E, Karkardooma Court, Arjun Gali, Vishwas Nagar, Shahdara, Delhi 110032. For East and North East Delhi matters.
  • Pitampura office — AD-13B, First Floor, Pitampura, Opposite Rohini Court, New Delhi 110034. For Rohini Court and North West Delhi matters.
